Coundon, Coventry, West Midlands. This 6.4 acre brownfield site consisted of a former allotment, demolished redundant distribution reservoir and five houses.
Outline planning consent was obtained in 2017 for 70 dwellings of which 25% was allocated as affordable housing.
Formerly used by Severn Trent for operational purposes, we worked alongside our planning promotion partner, Northern Trust, to secure outline planning permission from Gedling Borough Council for 120 new homes. The site was sold to Miller Homes in July 2021.
24 of the new properties are allocated for affordable homes and significant community benefits are being provided through financial contributions towards primary school provision, a local library and the provision of public open space.
As part of the sale conditions we secured a commitment that every new home built will not exceed a daily water consumption efficiency target of 110 litres per person per household.
